Regular meeting of the Digital Special Interest Group
Dwight T., Jim M. and Jim R. confer
We held a ‘private’ star gazing event at Quail Ridge Park advertised to members only. It was COLD! - about 12 deg. F. when we started at 7:00 pm. Four members braved the elements for a little bit of star gazing. It was so cold that Yvonne’s camera froze up and the picture below of Jim T. at the eyepiece of his 16-in Dob was the only one she got. John brought out his Christmas-present Meade go-to telescope, but the batteries couldn’t handle the cold either. Jim R. had the new club 25×100 binoculars to try out, but his eyes teared so much in the cold, he had to give up.
