Our first telescope clinic seemed to work for at least some folks, even though the skies wouldn’t stay clear long enough for any real observing.
We counted 42 folks at the regular meeting. There were discussions of how telescopes work and Thane Bopp showed his home-made 10-inch travel telescope that can be packed in a small to medium size suitcase. Thane also showed a couple examples of a ‘barn door’ mounting suitable for long exposure astrophotography with ordinary cameras.
Coffee and cake was such a hit that we will want to do it from now on.
Next meeting - April 9, 2005.
